Staff Spotlight: David Golden
David Thigpen spent over 40 years in education as a teacher, coach, and administrator before joining Taylor King Law, where he plays a key part in moving each case forward after it’s signed by Intake.
For David, success has always been about giving your best “100% effort, 100% of the time.” David finds joy in being part of a team that helps others during difficult times. He especially appreciates the step-by-step progression of each case and takes pride in knowing his role contributes to the greater success of the firm.
Outside of work, David has taken on a title he never expected to love so much: Dog Dad. Growing up, having a dog was nothing like what he experiences now. That all changed when his daughter, Sealy, went to college in Kansas and left her one-year-old white lab, Ace, in his care. At first, David resisted—Ace was supposed to stay outside—but one stormy night changed everything. Ace came inside “just for the night” and never left. “Ace and I do everything together,” David says. “He never leaves my side.”
One book that had a lasting impact on David is Real Dream Teams by Bob Fisher and Bo Thomas. He also speaks passionately about mental health, due to personal experience with a family member living with severe Social Anxiety and ADHD. His journey has led him to educate himself further and advocate for those who may struggle silently. His message is simple: be present, reach out, and let others know they’re not alone.
When reflecting on his time at Taylor King Law, David describes his time as Impressed, Grateful, and Proud. We are thankful for David’s hard work!
