Fatal Collision on MLK Expressway in Hot Springs

84-year-old Joe Spiva (Hot Springs, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Sunday, March 31, 2024.

At approximately 3:14 p.m. Mr. Spiva entered the MLK Jr. Expressway from Malvern Avenue. According to the report, Mr. Spiva’s vehicle (1997 Ford Ranger) entered the expressway traveling east in the westbound lanes. Mr. Spiva’s vehicle collided head-on with a westbound vehicle (2013 Hyundai Tuscon). Mr. Spiva sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

54-year-old George Stoian (Hot Springs, AR) was traveling in the westbound vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision. Mr. Stoian was transported to CHI St. Vincent Hospital.
