Accident on Mississippi Near Cantrell on Friday Proves Fatal

51-year-old Charles Shelton (Little Rock, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Friday, January 21, 2022.

At approximately 5:22 p.m. Mr. Shelton was a passenger in a vehicle traveling north on Mississippi Street near Ohio and Cantrell. Mr. Shelton’s vehicle (2012 Nissan) was struck in the rear by a northbound vehicle (2003 Chevrolet) causing the vehicle to leave the roadway. Mr. Shelton’s vehicle overturned on its driver’s side before coming to a final rest.

Mr. Shelton was transported to Baptist Health Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
