Pedestrian Carrying Child Struck on Highway 71 in Texarkana

An unidentified minor child was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Monday, December 9, 2019.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. 19-year-old Charlise Hillis (Texarkana, AR) was crossing Highway 71in Texarkana when she and the unidentified child she was carrying were struck by a northbound vehicle. The vehicle (2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser) was in the turn lane preparing to turn left when it struck Ms. Hillis.

Ms. Hillis was transported with injuries to Wadley Hospital.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
