3 Dead in Fatal Collision on Piney Bridge Near Flat Rock

60-year-old Donald Nelms (Corinth, MS), 42-year-old James Carroll (Russellville, AR), and 37-year-old Jennifer Carroll (Dardanelle, AR) were fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

At approximately 3:33 p.m. Mr. Nelms was driving west on Highway 64 between Russellville and Clarksville near the Flat Rock Public Use Area. Mr. Carroll and Ms. Carroll were traveling east on Highway 64 when their vehicle (1999 Ford Ranger) crossed the centerline and struck Mr. Nelms’ vehicle (2017 Chevrolet Silverado) head-on.

The wreck occurred on the bridge across Big Piney Creek.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
